The which serpent said to the woman, Why commanded God to you, that ye should not eat of each tree of paradise? (And the serpent was more cunning than all the living beasts of the earth. And the serpent said to the woman, Why hath God commanded you to not eat from any tree in the garden?)

3soothly God commanded to us, that we should not eat of the fruit of the tree, which is in the midst of paradise (or which is in the middle of the garden), and that we should not touch it, lest peradventure we die.
