Chasten binecha (thy son) while there is yet tikvah, 1 and give not in to thy nefesh (desire) to kill him. 1

17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord ; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Here is, I. The duty of charity described. It includes two things:—1.
