Hosea 6
“Come, let us return to Yahweh. 1 For he has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us; 1 he has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds. 1
After two days he will revive us; 1 he will raise us up on the third day, 1 and we will live before him. 1
Let us know Yahweh; 1 let us press on to know Yahweh. 1 His coming out is as sure as the dawn; 1 he will come to us like the showers, 1 like the spring rains that water the land.” 1
Ephraim, what will I do with you? 1 Judah, what will I do with you? 1 Your faithfulness is like a morning cloud, 1 like the dew that goes away early. 1
So I have cut them to pieces by the prophets, 1 I have killed them with the words of my mouth. 1 Your decrees are like the light that shines out. 1
For I desire faithfulness and not sacrifice, 1 and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 1
Like Adam they have broken the covenant; 1 they were unfaithful to me. 1
Gilead is a city of evildoers 1 with footprints of blood. 1
As gangs of robbers wait for someone, 1 so the priests band together to commit murder on the way to Shechem; 1 they have committed shameful crimes. 1
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing; 1 Ephraim's prostitution is there, and Israel has become unclean. 1
For you also, Judah, a harvest has been appointed, 1 when I will restore the fortunes of my people.
