Ecclesiastes 11
Send forth thy bread upon the face of the water: 1 For thou shalt find it after many days. 1
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; 1 For thou knowest not what evil there shall be upon the earth. 1
If the clouds be filled with rain, 1 They pour it out upon the earth: 1 And if a tree fall southward, or if it fall northward, 1 In the place where the tree shall fall, there it shall be. 1
He that observes the wind sows not; 1 And he that looks at the clouds will not reap. 1
Among whom none knows what is the way of the wind: 1 As the bones are hidden in the womb of a pregnant woman, 1 So thou shalt not know the works of God, 1 Even all things whatsoever he shall do. 1
In the morning sow thy seed, 1 And in the evening let not thy hand be slack: 1 For thou knowest not what sort shall prosper, whether this or that, 1 Or whether both shall be good alike. 1
Moreover the light is sweet, 1 And it is good for the eyes to see the sun. 1
For even if a man should live many years, 1 And rejoice in them all; 1 Yet let him remember the days of darkness; 1 For they shall be many. 1 All that comes is vanity. 1
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; 1 And let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, 1 And walk in the ways of thy heart blameless, 1 But not in the sight of thine eyes: 1 Yet know that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 1
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, 1 And put away evil from thy flesh: 1 For youth and folly are vanity.
