Micah 3
1I said, “Now listen, 1 you leaders of Jacob 1 and rulers of the house of Israel: 1 Is it not right for you to understand justice? 1
2You who hate good 1 and love evil, 1 you who tear off their skin, 1 their flesh from their bones— 1
3you who also eat the flesh of my people, 1 and tear their skin off, 1 break their bones, 1 and chop them in pieces, 1 just like meat for a pot, 1 just like meat in a cauldron. 1
4Then you rulers will cry out to Yahweh, 1 but he will not answer you. 1 He will hide his face from you at that time, 1 because you have done evil deeds.” 1
5Yahweh says this, 1 “As for the prophets who lead my people astray, 1 if one gives them something to eat, 1 they proclaim, 'Peace.' 1 But if he puts nothing in their mouths, 1 they dedicate themselves to wage war on him. 1
6Therefore, it will be night for you with no vision for you; 1 it will be dark so that you will do no divination. 1 The sun will go down on the prophets, 1 and the day will be dark on them. 1
7The seers will be put to shame, 1 and the diviners will be confused. 1 All of them will cover their lips, 1 for there is no answer from me.” 1
8But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Yahweh, 1 and am full of justice and might, 1 to declare to Jacob his transgression, 1 and to Israel his sin. 1
9Now listen to this, 1 you leaders of the house of Jacob, 1 and rulers of the house of Israel, 1 you who detest justice, 1 and pervert everything right. 1
10You build Zion with blood 1 and Jerusalem with iniquity. 1
11Your leaders judge for a bribe, 1 your priests teach for a price, 1 and your prophets do divination for money. 1 Yet you rely on Yahweh and say, 1 “Is not Yahweh with us? 1 No evil will come on us.” 1
12Therefore, because of you, 1 Zion will become a plowed field, 1 Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, 1 and the hill of the temple will become a thicket.
