Micah 4
1But in the last days it will come about 1 that the mountain of Yahweh's house 1 will be established over the other mountains. 1 It will be exalted above the hills, 1 and peoples will stream to it. 1
2Many nations will go and say, 1 “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, 1 to the house of the God of Jacob. 1 He will teach us his ways, 1 and we will walk in his paths.” 1 For from Zion the law will go out, 1 and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. 1
3He will judge among many peoples 1 and will decide concerning numerous nations far away. 1 They will beat their swords into plowshares 1 and their spears into pruning hooks. 1 Nation will not lift up sword against nation, 1 nor will they train for war any longer. 1
4Instead, they will sit every person under his vine 1 and under his fig tree. 1 No one will make them afraid, 1 for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts has spoken. 1
5For all the peoples walk, 1 each one, in the name of their god. 1 But we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God 1 forever and ever. 1
6“On that day”—this is Yahweh's declaration— 1 “I will assemble the lame 1 and gather the outcast, 1 those whom I have afflicted. 1
7I will turn the lame into a remnant, 1 and the ones driven away into a strong nation, 1 and I, Yahweh, will reign over them on Mount Zion, 1 now and forever. 1
8As for you, watchtower for the flock, 1 hill of the daughter of Zion— 1 to you it will come, your former dominion will be restored, 1 the kingdom that belongs to the daughter of Jerusalem. 1
9Now, why do you shout so loudly? 1 Is there no king among you? 1 Has your counselor died? 1 Is this why pain grips you like that of a woman in labor? 1
10Be in pain 1 and labor to give birth, 1 daughter of Zion, 1 like a woman in labor. 1 For now you will you go out of the city, 1 live in the field, 1 and go to Babylon. 1 There you will be rescued. 1 There Yahweh will rescue you 1 from the hand of your enemies. 1
11Now many nations are assembled against you; 1 they say, 'Let her be defiled; 1 let our eyes gloat over Zion.' 1
12They do not know Yahweh's thoughts, 1 neither do they understand his plans, 1 for he has gathered them like bundles of grain prepared for the threshing floor. 1
13Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion, 1 for I will make your horn to be iron, 1 and I will make your hooves to be bronze. 1 You will crush many peoples and you will devote their unjust wealth to Yahweh, 1 their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.”
