Song of Solomon 2
I am a flower of the plain, 1 A lily of the valleys. 1
As a lily among thorns, 1 So is my companion among the daughters. 1
As the apple among the trees of the wood, 1 So is my kinsman among the sons. 1 I desired his shadow, and sat down, 1 And his fruit was sweet in my throat. 1
Bring me into the wine house; 1 Set love before me. 1
Strengthen me with perfumes, 1 Stay me with apples: for I am wounded with love. 1
His left hand shall be under my head, 1 And his right hand shall embrace me. 1
I have charged you, ye daughters of Jerusalem, 1 By the powers and by the virtues of the field, 1 That ye do not rouse or wake my love, until he please. 1
The voice of my kinsman! behold, he comes leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills. 1
My kinsman is like a roe 1 Or a young hart on the mountains of Bethel: 1 Behold, he is behind our wall, 1 Looking through the windows, 1 Peeping through the lattices. 1
My kinsman answers, and says to me, 1 Rise up, come, my companion, my fair one, my dove. 1
For, behold, the winter is past, 1 The rain is gone, it has departed. 1
The flowers are seen in the land; 1 The time of pruning has arrived; 1 The voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land. 1
The fig tree has put forth its young figs, 1 The vines put forth the tender grape, they yield a smell: 1 Arise, come, my companion, my fair one, my dove; yea, come. 1
Thou art my dove, in the shelter of the rock, 1 Near the wall: 1 Show me thy face, 1 And cause me to hear thy voice; 1 For thy voice is sweet, 1 And thy countenance is beautiful. 1
Take us the little foxes that spoil the vines: 1 For our vines put forth tender grapes. 1
My kinsman is mine, and I am his: 1 He feeds his flock among the lilies. 1
Until the day dawn, and the shadows depart, 1 Turn, my kinsman, 1 Be thou like to a roe or young hart 1 On the mountains of the ravines.
