Song of Solomon 4

Behold, thou art fair, my companion; 1 Behold, thou art fair; 1 Thine eyes are doves, 1 Beside thy veil: 1 Thy hair is as flocks of goats, 1 That have appeared from Gilead. 1

Thy teeth are as flocks of shorn sheep, 1 That have gone up from the washing; 1 All of them bearing twins, 1 And there is not a barren one among them. 1

Thy lips are as a thread of scarlet, 1 And thy speech is comely: 1 Like the rind of a pomegranate 1 Is thy cheek without thy veil. 1

Thy neck is as the tower of David, 1 That was built for an armory: 1 A thousand shields hang upon it, 1 And all darts of mighty men. 1

Thy two breasts are as two twin fawns, 1 That feed among the lilies. 1

Until the day dawn, and the shadows depart, 1 I will betake me to the mountain of myrrh, 1 And to the hill of frankincense. 1

Thou art all fair, my companion, 1 And there is no spot in thee. 1

Come from Lebanon, my bride, come from Lebanon: 1 Thou shalt come and pass from the top of Faith, 1 From the top of Senir and Hermon, 1 From the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards. 1

My sister, my spouse, 1 Thou hast ravished my heart; 1 Thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, 1 With one chain of thy neck. 1

How beautiful are thy breasts, my sister, my spouse! 1 How much more beautiful are thy breasts than wine, 1 And the smell of thy garments than all spices! 1

Thy lips drop honeycomb, my spouse: 1 Honey and milk are under thy tongue; 1 And the smell of thy garments is as the smell of Lebanon. 1

My sister, my spouse is a garden enclosed; 1 A garden enclosed, a fountain sealed. 1

Thy shoots are a garden of pomegranates, with the fruit of choice berries; 1 Camphor, with spikenard: 1

Spikenard and saffron, 1 Calamus and cinnamon; 1 With all woods of Lebanon, 1 Myrrh, aloes, with all chief spices: 1

A fountain of a garden, 1 And a well of water springing and gurgling from Lebanon. 1

Awake, O north wind; and come, O south; 1 And blow through my garden, and let my spices flow out.
