Isaiah 43
1But now Adonai who created you, Jacob [Supplanter], 2 and he who formed you, Israel [God prevails] says: 1 “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. 2 I have called you by your name. 2 You are mine. 1
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; 2 and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. 1 When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, 2 and flame will not scorch you. 1
3For I am Adonai your God, 2 haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails], 2 the One who saves you. 1 I have given Egypt [Abode of slavery] as your ransom, 2 Ethiopia and Seba in your place. 1
4Since you have been precious and honored in my sight, 2 and I have 'ahav ·affectionately loved· you; 2 therefore I will give people in your place, 2 and nations instead of your life. 1
5Don’t be afraid; for I am with you. 2 I will bring your offspring from the east, 2 and gather you from the west. 1
6I will tell the north, ‘Give them up!’ 2 and tell the south, ‘Don’t hold them back! 2 Bring my sons from far, 2 and my daughters + 43:6. Quoted in 2 Cor 6:18 from the ends of the earth— 1
7everyone who is called by my name, 2 and whom I have created for my kavod ·weighty glory·, 2 whom I have formed, 2 yes, whom I have made.’” 1
8Bring out the blind people who have eyes, 2 and the deaf who have ears. 1
9Let all the nations be gathered together, 2 and let the peoples be assembled. 1 Who among them can declare this, 2 and sh'ma ·hear obey, declare· us former things? 1 Let them bring their witnesses, that they may be justified; 2 or let them sh'ma ·hear obey·, and say, “That is true.” 1
10“You are my witnesses,” says Adonai, 2 “With my servant whom I have chosen; 2 that you may know and trust me, 2 and understand that I am he. 1 Before me there was no deity formed, 2 neither will there be after me. 1
11+ 43:11. MP: Yahweh is the only Savior. God is responsible for anything related to redeeming humans, which includes the work of His Servant (Is 43:10). The Servant is the Messiah. (Matt 11:27; Acts 4:12) I myself am Adonai; 2 and besides me there is no one providing salvation. 1
12I have declared, I have saved, and I have sh'ma ·heard obeyed·; 2 and there was no strange deity among you. 1 Therefore you are my witnesses,” 2 says Adonai, “and I am God. 1
13Yes, since the day was I am he; 2 and there is no one who can deliver out of my hand. 2 I will work, and who can hinder it?”
14Adonai, your Redeemer, haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails] says: “For your sake, I have sent to Babylon [Confusion], and I will bring all of them down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans [Descendants of Loving-kindness], in the ships of their rejoicing.
15I am Adonai, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel [God prevails], your King.”
16Adonai, who makes a way in the sea, 2 and a path in the mighty waters says: 1
17who brings out the chariot and horse, 2 the army and the mighty man 2 (they lie down together, they shall not rise; 2 they are extinct, they are quenched like a wick): 1
18“Don’t remember the former things, 2 and don’t consider the things of old. 1
19Behold, I will do a new thing. + 43:19. Quoted in Rev 21:5 2 It springs out now. 2 Don’t you know it? 1 I will even make a way in the wilderness, 2 and rivers in the desert. 1
20The animals of the field shall honor me, 2 the jackals and the ostriches; 1 because I give water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, 2 to give drink to my people, my chosen, 2

22Yet you have not called on me, Jacob [Supplanter]; 2 but you have been weary of me, Israel [God prevails]. 1
23You have not brought me of your sheep for burnt offerings; 2 neither have you honored me with your sacrifices. 1 I have not burdened you with offerings, 2 nor wearied you with frankincense. 1
24You have bought me no sweet cane with money, 2 nor have you filled me with the fat of your sacrifices; 1 but you have abad ·served· me with your habitual sins ·missing the marks·. 2 You have wearied me with your depravities (moral evils). 1
25I, even I, am he who blots out your rebellious breaches of relationships for my own sake; 2 and I will not remember your habitual sins ·missing the marks·. 1
26Put me in remembrance. 2 Let us plead together. 1 Declare your case, 2 that you may be justified. 1
27Your first father sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, 2 and your teachers have rebelled to break away from authority thus breaking relationship against me. 1
28Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; 2 and I will make Jacob [Supplanter] a curse, 2 and Israel [God prevails] an insult.”
