Isaiah 56
1Adonai says, 1 “Maintain mishpat ·justice·, 2 and do what is right; 1 for my yishu'ah ·salvation· is near, 2 and my righteousness will soon be revealed. 1
2Blessed is the man who does this, 2 and the son of man who holds it fast; 1 who keeps the Shabath ·Intermission· without profaning it, 2 and keeps his hand from doing any evil.” 1
3Let no foreigner, who has joined himself to Adonai, speak, saying, 2 “ Adonai will surely separate me from his people.” 2 Do not let the eunuch say, “Behold, I am a dry tree.” 1
4For Adonai says, “To the eunuchs who keep my Shab'totay ·Intermissions·, 2 and choose the things that please me, 2 and hold fast to my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·: 1
5I will give them in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters. 2 I will give them an everlasting name, that will not be cut off. 1
6Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, 2 to serve him, 1 and to 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai’s name, 2 to be his servants, 1 everyone who keeps the Shabath ·Intermission· from profaning it, 2 and holds fast my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·; 1

8'Adonay Adonai [Lord Yahweh], who gathers the outcasts of Israel [God prevails], says, 2 “I will yet gather others to him, 2 besides his own who are gathered.” 1
9All you animals of the field, 2 come to devour, 2 all you animals in the forest. 1
10His watchmen are blind. 2 They are all without knowledge. 1 They are all mute dogs. 2 They can’t bark; 2 dreaming, lying down, 'ahav ·affectionately loving· slumber. 1
11Yes, the dogs are greedy. 2 They can never have enough. 1 They are shepherds who can’t understand. 2 They have all turned to their own way, 2 each one to his gain, from every quarter. 1
12“Come,” say they, “I will get wine, 2 and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; 2 and tomorrow will be as today, 2 great beyond measure.”
