Isaiah 62
1For Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]’s sake will I not hold my peace, 2 and for Jerusalem [City of peace]’s sake I will not rest, 1 until her righteousness shines out like the dawn, 2 and her yishu'ah ·salvation· like a blazing torch. 1
2The nations will see your righteousness, 2 and all kings your kavod ·weighty glory·, 1 and you will be called by a new name, 2 which Adonai’s mouth will name. 1
3You will also be a crown of beauty in Adonai’s hand, 2 and a royal diadem ·crown· in your God’s hand. 1
4You will not be called Forsaken any more; 2 nor will your land be called Desolate any more: 1 but you will be called Hephzibah, 2 and your land Beulah; 1 for Adonai delights in you, 2 and your land will be married. 1
5For as a young man marries a virgin, 2 so your sons will marry you. 1 As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, 2 so your God will rejoice over you. 1
6I have set watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem [City of peace]. 2 They will never be silent day nor night. 1 You who call on Adonai, take no rest, 2
7and give him no rest, until he establishes, 2 and until he makes Jerusalem [City of peace] a tehilah ·praise song· in the earth. 1
8Adonai has sworn by his right hand, 2 and by the arm of his strength, 1 “Surely I will no more give your grain to be food for your enemies; 2 and foreigners will not drink your new wine, for which you have labored; 1
9but those who have harvested it will eat it, and praise Adonai; 2 and those who have gathered it will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.” 1
10Go through, go through the gates! 2 Prepare the way of the people! 1 Build up, build up the highway! 2 Gather out the stones! 2 Lift up a banner for the peoples. 1
11Behold, Adonai has sh'ma ·hear obey, proclaimed· unto the end of the earth, 2 “Say to the daughter of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], 2 ‘Behold, your yesha' ·salvation· comes. 1 Behold, his reward is with him, 2 and his recompense before him.’” 1
12They will call them The holy people, 2 Adonai’s redeemed. 1 You will be called Sought out, 2 A city not forsaken.
