Proverbs 15
1A gentle answer turns away wrath, 2 but a harsh word stirs up anger. 1
2The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, 2 but the mouth of fools gush out folly. 1
3Adonai’s eyes are everywhere, 2 keeping watch on the evil and the good. 1
4A gentle tongue is a tree of life, 2 but deceit in it crushes the spirit. 1
5A fool despises his father’s correction, 2 but he who heeds reproof shows prudence. 1
6In the house of the upright is much treasure, 2 but the income of the wicked brings trouble. 1
7The lips of the wise spread knowledge; 2 not so with the heart of fools. 1
8The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Adonai, 2 but the prayer of the upright is his delight. 1
9The way of the wicked is an abomination to Adonai, 2 but he 'ahav ·affectionately loves· him who follows after righteousness. 1
10There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way: 2 whoever hates reproof shall die. 1
11Sheol ·Place of the dead· and Abaddon ·Destruction, Unrighteous side of Sheol· are before Adonai, 2 how much more then the hearts of the children of men! 1
12A scoffer does not 'ahav ·affectionately love· to be reproved; 2 he will not go to the wise. 1
13A glad heart makes a cheerful face; 2 but an aching heart breaks the spirit. 1
14The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, 2 but the mouths of fools feed on folly. 1
15All the days of the afflicted are wretched, 2 but one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast. 1
16Better is little, with the fear of Adonai, 2 than great treasure with trouble. 1
17Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, 2 than a fattened calf with hatred. 1
18A wrathful man stirs up contention, 2 but one who is slow to anger appeases strife. 1
19The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, 2 but the path of the upright is a highway. 1
20A wise son makes a father glad, 2 but a foolish man despises his mother. 1
21Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom, 2 but a man of understanding keeps his way straight. 1
22Where there is no counsel, plans fail; 2 but in a multitude of counselors they are established. 1
23Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. 2 How good is a word at the right time! 1
24The path of life leads upward for the wise, 2 to keep him from going downward to Sheol ·Place of the dead·. 1
25Adonai will uproot the house of the proud, 2 but he will keep the widow’s borders intact. 1
26Adonai detests the thoughts of the wicked, 2 but the thoughts of the pure are pleasing. 1
27He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, 2 but he who hates bribes will live. 1
28The heart of the upright weighs answers, 2 but the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil. 1

30The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. 2 Good news gives health to the bones. 1
31The ear that sh'ma ·hears obeys· reproof lives, 2 and will be at home among the wise. 1
32He who refuses correction despises his own soul, 2 but he who sh'ma ·hears obeys· reproof gets understanding. 1
33The fear of Adonai teaches wisdom. 2 Before kavod ·weighty glory· is humility.
