Job 26
Then Job answered and said, 1
“How you have helped one who has no power! 1 How you have saved the arm that has no strength! 1
How you have advised one who has no wisdom 1 and announced to him sound knowledge! 1
With whose help have you spoken these words? 1 Whose spirit was it that came out from you? 1
The dead are made to tremble, 1 those who are beneath the waters 1 and all who dwell in them. 1
Sheol is naked before God; 1 destruction itself has no covering against him. 1
He stretches out the northern skies 1 over the empty space, 1 and he hangs the earth over nothing. 1
He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, 1 but the clouds are not torn under them. 1
He covers the surface of the moon 1 and spreads his clouds on it. 1
He has engraved a circular boundary on the surface of the waters 1 as the line between light and darkness. 1
The pillars of heaven tremble 1 and are astonished at his rebuke. 1
He calmed the sea with his power; 1 by his understanding he shattered Rahab. 1
By his breath he made the skies clear; 1 his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. 1
See, these are but the fringes of his ways; 1 how small a whisper do we hear of him! 1 Who can understand the thunder of his power?”
