Proverbs 10
1A wise son makes his father glad: 1 But a foolish son is a grief to his mother. 1
2Treasures shall not profit the lawless: 1 But righteousness shall deliver from death. 1
3The Lord will not famish a righteous soul: 1 But he will overthrow the life of the ungodly. 1
4a A son who is instructed shall be wise, 1 And shall use the fool for a servant. 1
5A wise son is saved from heat: 1 But a lawless son is blighted of the winds in harvest. 1
6The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: 1 But untimely grief shall cover the mouth of the ungodly. 1
7The memory of the just is praised; 1 But the name of the ungodly man is extinguished. 1
8A wise man in heart will receive commandments; 1 But he that is unguarded in his lips shall be overthrown in his perverseness. 1
9He that walks simply, walks confidently; 1 But he that perverts his ways shall be known. 1
10He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men; 1 But he that reproves boldly is a peacemaker. 1
11There is a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man; 1 But destruction shall cover the mouth of the ungodly. 1
12Hatred stirs up strife; 1 But affection covers all that do not love strife. 1
13He that brings forth wisdom from his lips 1 Smites the fool with a rod. 1
14The wise will hide discretion; 1 But the mouth of the hasty draws near to ruin. 1
15The wealth of rich men is a strong city; 1 But poverty is the ruin of the ungodly. 1
16The works of the righteous produce life; 1 But the fruits of the ungodly produce sins. 1
17Instruction keeps the right ways of life; 1 But instruction unchastened goes astray. 1
18Righteous lips cover enmity; 1 But they that utter railings are most foolish. 1
19By a multitude of words thou shalt not escape sin; 1 But if thou refrain thy lips thou wilt be prudent. 1
20The tongue of the just is tried silver; 1 But the heart of the ungodly shall fail. 1
21The lips of the righteous know sublime truths: 1 But the foolish die in want. 1
22The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the righteous; 1 It enriches him, and grief of heart shall not be added to it. 1
23A fool does mischief in sport; 1 But wisdom brings forth prudence for a man. 1
24The ungodly is engulfed in destruction; 1 But the desire of the righteous is acceptable. 1
25When the storm passes by, the ungodly vanishes away; 1 But the righteous turns aside and escapes forever. 1
26As a sour grape is hurtful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, 1 So iniquity hurts those that practice it. 1
27The fear of the Lord adds length of days: 1 But the years of the ungodly shall be shortened. 1
28Joy rests long with the righteous: 1 But the hope of the ungodly shall perish. 1
29The fear of the Lord is a stronghold of the saints: 1 But ruin comes to them that work wickedness. 1
30The righteous shall never fail: 1 But the ungodly shall not dwell in the earth. 1
31The mouth of the righteous drops wisdom: 1 But the tongue of the unjust shall perish. 1
32The lips of just men drop grace: 1 But the mouth of the ungodly is perverse.
