Proverbs 11
1False balances are an abomination before the Lord: 1 But a just weight is acceptable unto him. 1
2Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: 1 But the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom. 1
3When a just man dies he leaves regret: 1 But the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy. 1
5Righteousness traces out blameless paths: 1 But ungodliness encounters unjust dealing. 1
6The righteousness of upright men delivers them: 1 But transgressors are caught in their own destruction. 1
7At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: 1 But the boast of the ungodly perishes. 1
8A righteous man escapes from a snare, 1 And the ungodly man is delivered up in his place. 1
9In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: 1 But the understanding of righteous men is prosperous. 1
10In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: 1
11But by the mouths of ungodly men it is overthrown. 1
12A man void of understanding sneers at his fellow citizens: 1 But a sensible man is quiet. 1
13A double-tongued man discloses the secret counsels of an assembly: 1 But he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters. 1
14They that have no guidance fall like leaves: 1 But in much counsel there is safety. 1
15A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: 1 And he hates the sound of safety. 1
16A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: 1 But a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonor. 1 The slothful come to want: 1 But the diligent support themselves with wealth. 1
17A merciful man does good to his own soul: 1 But the merciless destroys his own body. 1
18An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: 1 But the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth. 1
19A righteous son is born for life: 1 But the persecution of the ungodly ends in death. 1
20Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: 1 But all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him. 1
21He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: 1 But he that sows righteousness shall receive a faithful reward. 1
22As an ornament in a swine’s snout, 1 So is beauty to an ill-minded woman. 1
23All the desire of the righteous is good: 1 But the hope of the ungodly shall perish. 1
24There are some who scatter their own, and make it more: 1 And there are some also who gather, yet have less. 1
25Every sincere soul is blessed: 1 But a passionate man is not graceful. 1
26May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: 1 But blessing be on the head of him that gives it. 1
27He that devises good counsels seeks good favor: 1 But as for him that seeks after evil, evil shall overtake him. 1
28He that trusts in wealth shall fall; 1 But he that helps righteous men shall rise. 1
29He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; 1 And the fool shall be servant to the wise man. 1
30Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; 1 But the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time. 1
31If the righteous scarcely be saved, 1 Where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
