Proverbs 29
1A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: 1 For when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy. 1
2When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: 1 But when the ungodly rule, men mourn. 1
3When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: 1 But he that keeps harlots will waste wealth. 1
4A righteous king establishes a country: 1 But a transgressor destroys it. 1
5He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, 1 Entangles his own feet in it. 1
6A great snare is spread for a sinner: 1 But the righteous shall be in joy and gladness. 1
7A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: 1 But the ungodly understands not knowledge; 1 And the poor man has not an understanding mind. 1
8Lawless men burn down a city: 1 But wise men turn away wrath. 1
9A wise man shall judge nations: 1 But a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not. 1
10Bloody men hate a holy person, 1 But the upright will seek his soul. 1
11A fool utters all his mind: 1 But the wise reserves his in part. 1
12When a king hearkens to unjust language, 1 All his subjects are transgressors. 1
13When the creditor and debtor meet together, 1 The Lord oversees them both. 1
14When a king judges the poor in truth, 1 His throne shall be established for a testimony. 1
15Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: 1 But an erring child disgraces his parents. 1
16When the ungodly abound, sins abound: 1 But when they fall, the righteous are warned. 1
17Chasten thy son, and he shall give thee rest; 1 And he shall give honor to thy soul. 1
18There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: 1 But he that observes the law is blessed. 1
19A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: 1 For even if he understand, still he will not obey. 1
20If thou see a man hasty in his words, 1 Know that the fool has hope rather than he. 1
21He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, 1 And in the end shall grieve over himself. 1
22A furious man stirs up strife, 1 And a passionate man digs up sin. 1
23Pride brings a man low, 1 But the Lord upholds the humble minded with honor. 1
24He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: 1 And if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it, 1
25They fearing and reverencing men unreasonably have been overthrown, 1 But he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. 1 Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: 1 But he that trusts in his master shall be safe. 1
26Many wait on the favor of rulers; 1 But justice comes to a man from the Lord. 1
27A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, 1 And the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.
