Proverbs 15
1Anger slays even wise men; 1 Yet a submissive answer turns away wrath: 1 But a grievous word stirs up anger. 1
2The tongue of the wise knows what is good: 1 But the mouth of the foolish tells out evil things. 1
3The eyes of the Lord behold 1 Both the evil and the good in every place. 1
4The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, 1 And he that keeps it shall be filled with understanding. 1
5A fool scorns his father’s instruction: 1 But he that keeps his commandments is more prudent. 1 In abounding righteousness is great strength: 1 But the ungodly shall utterly perish from the earth. 1
6In the houses of the righteous is much strength: 1 But the fruits of the ungodly shall perish. 1
7The lips of the wise are bound by discretion: 1 But the hearts of the foolish are not safe. 1
8The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord; 1 But the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with him. 1
9The ways of an ungodly man are an abomination to the Lord; 1 But he loves those that follow after righteousness. 1
10The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by; 1 But they that hate reproofs die disgracefully. 1
11Hell and destruction are manifest to the Lord; 1 How shall not also be the hearts of men? 1
12An uninstructed person will not love those that reprove him; 1 Neither will he associate with the wise. 1
13When the heart rejoices the countenance is cheerful; 1 But when it is in sorrow, the countenance is sad. 1
14An upright heart seeks discretion; 1 But the mouth of the uninstructed will experience evils. 1
15The eyes of the wicked are always looking for evil things; 1 But the good are always quiet. 1
16Better is a small portion with the fear of the Lord, 1 Than great treasures without the fear of the Lord. 1
17Better is an entertainment of herbs with friendliness and kindness, 1 Than a feast of calves, with enmity. 1
18a A man slow to anger will extinguish quarrels; 1 But an ungodly man rather stirs them up. 1
19The ways of sluggards are strewn with thorns; 1 But those of the diligent are made smooth. 1
20A wise son gladdens his father; 1 But a foolish son sneers at his mother. 1
21The ways of a foolish man are void of sense; 1 But a wise man proceeds on his way aright. 1
22They that honor not councils put off deliberation; 1 But counsel abides in the hearts of counselors. 1
23A bad man will by no means attend to counsel; 1 Neither will he say anything seasonable, or good for the common weal. 1
24The thoughts of the wise are ways of life, 1 That he may turn aside and escape from hell. 1
25The Lord pulls down the houses of scorners; 1 But he establishes the border of the widow. 1
26An unrighteous thought is abomination to the Lord; 1 But the sayings of the pure are held in honor. 1
27a By alms and by faithful dealings sins are purged away; 1 But by the fear of the Lord everyone departs from evil. 1
28a The ways of righteous men are acceptable with the Lord; 1 And through them even enemies become friends. 1
29b Let the heart of a man think justly, 1 That his steps may be rightly ordered of God. 1
30The eye that sees rightly rejoices the heart; 1 And a good report fattens the bones. 1
32He that rejects instruction hates himself; 1 But he that minds reproofs loves his soul. 1
33The fear of the Lord is instruction and wisdom; 1 And the highest honor will correspond therewith.
