Job 36
1And Elihu further continued, and said, 1
2Wait for me yet a little while, that I may teach thee: 1 For there is yet speech in me. 1
3Having fetched my knowledge from afar, 1 And according to my works, 1
4I will speak just things truly, 1 And thou shalt not unjustly receive unjust words. 1
5But know that the Lord will not cast off an innocent man: 1 Being mighty in strength of wisdom, 1
6He will not by any means save alive the ungodly: 1 And he will grant the judgment of the poor. 1
7He will not turn away his eyes from the righteous, 1 But they shall be with kings on the throne: 1 And he will establish them in triumph, and they shall be exalted. 1
8But they that are bound in fetters 1 Shall be holden in cords of poverty. 1
9And he shall recount to them their works, 1 And their transgressions, for such will act with violence. 1
10But he will hearken to the righteous: 1 And he has said that they shall turn from unrighteousness. 1
11If they should hear and serve him, 1 They shall spend their days in prosperity, 1 And their years in honor. 1
12But he preserves not the ungodly; because they are not willing to know the Lord, 1 And because when reproved they were disobedient. 1
13And the hypocrites in heart will array wrath against themselves; 1 They will not cry, because he has bound them. 1
14Therefore let their soul die in youth, 1 And their life be wounded by messengers of death. 1
15Because they afflicted the weak and helpless: 1 And he will vindicate the judgment of the meek. 1
16And he has also enticed thee out of the mouth of the enemy: 1
17There is a deep gulf and a rushing stream beneath it, 1 And thy table came down full of fatness. 1 Judgment shall not fail from the righteous; 1
18But there shall be wrath upon the ungodly, 1 By reason of the ungodliness of the bribes which they received for iniquities. 1
19Let not thy mind willingly turn thee aside 1 From the petition of the feeble that are in distress. 1
20And draw not forth all the mighty men by night, 1 So that the people should go up instead of them. 1
21But take heed lest thou do that which is wrong: 1 For of this thou hast made choice because of poverty. 1
22Behold, the Mighty One shall prevail by his strength: 1 For who is powerful as he is? 1
23And who is he that examines his works? 1 Or who can say, He has wrought injustice? 1
24Remember that his works are great 1 Beyond those which men have attempted. 1
25Every man has seen in himself, 1 How many mortals are wounded. 1
26Behold, the Mighty One is great, and we shall not know him: 1 The number of his years is even infinite. 1
27And the drops of rain are numbered by him, 1 And shall be poured out in rain to form a cloud. 1
28b Yet by all these things thy understanding is not astonished, 1 Neither is thy mind disturbed in thy body. 1
29And though one should understand the outspreadings of the clouds, 1 Or the measure of his tabernacle; 1
30Behold he will stretch his bow against him, 1 And he covers the bottom of the sea. 1
31For by them he will judge the nations: 1 He will give food to him that has strength. 1
32He has hidden the light in his hands, 1 And given charge concerning it to the interposing cloud. 1
33The Lord will declare concerning this to his friend: 1 But there is a portion also for unrighteousness.
