Psalms 113
1Alleluia. 1 At the going forth of Israel from Egypt, 1 Of the house of Jacob from a barbarous people, 1
2Judea became his sanctuary, 1 And Israel his dominion. 1
3The sea saw and fled: 1 Jordan was turned back. 1
4The mountains skipped like rams, 1 And the hills like lambs. 1
5What ailed thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? 1 And thou Jordan, that thou wast turned back? 1
6Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, 1 And ye hills, like lambs? 1
7The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, 1 At the presence of the God of Jacob; 1
8Who turned the rock into pools of water, 1 And the flint into fountains of water. 1
9Not to us, O Lord, not to us, 1 But to thy name give glory, 1 Because of thy mercy and thy truth; 1
10Lest at any time the nations should say, 1 Where is their God? 1
11But our God has done in heaven and on earth, 1 Whatsoever he has pleased. 1
12The idols of the nations are silver and gold, 1 The works of men’s hands. 1
13They have a mouth, but they cannot speak; 1 They have eyes, but they cannot see: 1
14They have ears, but they cannot hear; 1 They have noses, but they cannot smell; 1
15They have hands, but they cannot handle; 1 They have feet, but they cannot walk: 1 They cannot speak through their throat. 1
16Let those that make them become like to them, 1 And all who trust in them. 1
17The house of Israel trusts in the Lord: 1 He is their helper and defender. 1
18The house of Aaron trusts in the Lord: 1 He is their helper and defender. 1
19They that fear the Lord trust in the Lord: 1 He is their helper and defender. 1
20The Lord has remembered us, and blessed us: 1 He has blessed the house of Israel, 1 He has blessed the house of Aaron. 1
21He has blessed them that fear the Lord, 1 Both small and great. 1
22The Lord add blessings 1 To you and to your children. 1
23Blessed are ye of the Lord, 1 Who made the heaven and the earth. 1
24The heaven of heavens belongs to the Lord: 1 But he has given the earth to the sons of men. 1
25The dead shall not praise thee, O Lord, 1 Nor any that go down to Hades. 1
26But we, the living, will bless the Lord, 1 From henceforth and forever.
