Psalms 2
Wherefore did the heathen rage, 1 And the nations imagine vain things? 1
The kings of the earth stood up, 1 And the rulers gathered themselves together, 1 Against the Lord, and against his Christ; 1
Saying, Let us break through their bonds, 1 And cast away their yoke from us. 1
He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, 1 And the Lord shall mock them. 1
Then shall he speak to them in his anger, 1 And trouble them in his fury. 1
But I have been made king by him 1 On Zion his holy mountain, 1
Declaring the ordinance of the Lord: 1 The Lord said to me, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee. 1
Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, 1 And the ends of the earth for thy possession. 1
Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron; 1 Thou shalt dash them in pieces as a potter’s vessel. 1
Now therefore understand, ye kings: 1 Be instructed, all ye that judge the earth. 1
Serve the Lord with fear, 1 And rejoice in him with trembling. 1
Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, 1 And ye should perish from the righteous way: 1 Whensoever his wrath shall be suddenly kindled, 1 Blessed are all they that trust in him.
