Psalms 104

I give praise to Yahweh with all my life, 1 Yahweh my God, you are very magnificent; 1 you are clothed with splendor and majesty. 1

You cover yourself with light as with a garment; 1 you spread out the heavens like a tent curtain. 1

You lay the beams of your chambers on the clouds; 1 you make the clouds your chariot; 1 you walk on the wings of the wind. 1

He makes the winds his messengers, 1 flames of fire his servants. 1

He laid the foundations of the earth, 1 and it will never be moved. 1

You covered the earth with water like a garment; 1 the water covered the mountains. 1

Your rebuke made the waters recede; 1 at the sound of your thunderous voice they fled. 1

The mountains rose, and the valleys spread out 1 into the places that you had appointed for them. 1

You have set a boundary for them that they will not cross; 1 they will not cover the earth again. 1

He made springs flow into the valleys; 1 the streams flow between the mountains. 1

They supply water for all the animals of the field; 1 the wild donkeys quench their thirst. 1

By the riverbanks the birds build their nests; 1 they sing among the branches. 1

He waters the mountains from his water chambers in the sky. 1 The earth is filled with the fruit of his labor. 1

He makes the grass grow for the cattle 1 and plants for man to cultivate 1 so that man may produce food from the earth. 1

He makes wine to make man happy, 1 oil to make his face shine, 1 and food to sustain his life. 1

The trees of Yahweh get plenty of rain; 1 the cedars of Lebanon which he planted. 1

There the birds make their nests. 1 The stork makes the cypress tree her home. 1

The wild goats live on the high mountains; 1 the mountain heights are a refuge for the hyraxes. 1

He appointed the moon to mark the seasons; 1 the sun knows its time for setting. 1

You make the darkness of the night 1 when all the beasts of the forest come out. 1

The young lions roar for their prey 1 and seek their food from God. 1

When the sun rises, they retreat 1 and sleep in their dens. 1

Meanwhile, people go out to their work 1 and labor away until the evening. 1

Yahweh, how many and varied are your works! 1 With wisdom you made them all; 1 the earth overflows with your works. 1

Over there is the sea, deep and wide, 1 teeming with innumerable creatures, 1 both small and great. 1

The ships travel there, 1 and Leviathan is also there, which you formed to play in the sea. 1

All these look to you to give them 1 their food on time. 1

When you give to them, they gather; 1 when you open your hand, they are satisfied. 1

When you hide your face, they are troubled; 1 if you take away their breath, they die 1 and return to dust. 1

When you send out your Spirit, they are created, 1 and you renew the countryside. 1

May the glory of Yahweh last forever; 1 may Yahweh enjoy his creation. 1

He looks down on the earth, and it shakes; 1 he touches the mountains, and they smoke. 1

I will sing to Yahweh all my life; 1 I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. 1

May my thoughts be sweet to him; 1 I will rejoice in Yahweh. 1

May sinners vanish from the earth, 1 and let the wicked be no more. 1 I give praise to Yahweh with all my life. 1 Praise Yahweh.
