Psalms 47

1Clap your hands, all you peoples; 1 shout to God with the sound of triumph. 1

2For Yahweh Most High is terrifying; 1 he is a great King over all the earth. 1

3He subdues peoples under us 1 and nations under our feet. 1

4He chooses our inheritance for us, 1 the glory of Jacob whom he loved. Selah 1

5God has gone up with a shout, 1 Yahweh with the sound of a trumpet. 1

6Sing praises to God, sing praises; 1 sing praises to our King, sing praises. 1

7For God is the King over all the earth; 1 sing praises with understanding. 1

8God reigns over the nations; 1 God sits on his holy throne. 1

9The princes of the peoples have gathered together 1 to the people of the God of Abraham; 1 for the shields of the earth belong to God; 1 he is greatly exalted.
