Psalms 86
Listen, Yahweh, and answer me, 1 for I am poor and oppressed. 1
Protect me, for I am loyal; 1 my God, save your servant who trusts in you. 1
Be merciful to me, Lord, 1 for I cry out to you all day long. 1
Make your servant glad, 1 for to you, Lord, I lift up my soul. 1
You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, 1 and you show great mercy to all those who cry out to you. 1
Yahweh, listen to my prayer; 1 hear the sound of my pleas. 1
In the day of my trouble I call on you, 1 for you will answer me. 1
There is no one who compares to you among the gods, Lord. 1 There are no deeds like your deeds. 1
All the nations that you have made will come and bow before you, Lord. 1 They will honor your name. 1
For you are great and do wonderful things; 1 you only are God. 1
Teach me your ways, Yahweh. Then I will walk in your truth. 1 Unite my heart to reverence you. 1
Lord my God, I will praise you with my whole heart; 1 I will glorify your name forever. 1
For great is your covenant faithfulness toward me; 1 you have rescued my life from the depths of Sheol. 1
God, the arrogant have risen up against me. 1 A gang of violent men seek my life. 1 They have no regard for you. 1
But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, 1 slow to anger, and abundant in covenant faithfulness and trustworthiness. 1
Turn toward me and have mercy on me; 1 give your strength to your servant; 1 save the son of your servant woman. 1
Show me a sign of your favor. 1 Then those who hate me will see it and be put to shame 1 because you, Yahweh, have helped me and comforted me.
