Psalms 147
Praise Yahweh, 1 for it is good to sing praises to our God, 1 it is pleasant, and praise is suitable. 1
Yahweh rebuilds Jerusalem, 1 he gathers together the scattered people of Israel. 1
He heals the brokenhearted 1 and binds up their wounds. 1
He counts the stars, 1 he gives names to all of them. 1
Great is our Lord and awesome in power, 1 his understanding cannot be measured. 1
Yahweh lifts up the oppressed, 1 he brings the wicked down to the ground. 1
Sing to Yahweh with thanksgiving, 1 sing praises to our God with a harp. 1
He covers the heavens with clouds 1 and prepares rain for the earth, 1 making the grass to grow on the mountains. 1
He gives food to the animals 1 and to the young ravens when they cry. 1
He finds no delight in the strength of a horse, 1 he takes no pleasure in the strong legs of a man. 1
Yahweh takes pleasure in those who honor him, 1 who hope in his covenant faithfulness. 1
Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem, 1 praise your God, Zion. 1
For he strengthens the bars of your gates, 1 he blesses your children among you. 1
He brings prosperity inside your borders, 1 he satisfies you with the finest of wheat. 1
He sends out his commandment to earth, 1 his command runs very swiftly. 1
He makes the snow like wool, 1 he scatters the frost like ashes. 1
He dispenses the hail like crumbs, 1 who can withstand the cold he sends? 1
He sends out his command and melts them, 1 he makes the wind to blow and the water to flow. 1
He proclaimed his word to Jacob, 1 his statutes and his righteous decrees to Israel. 1
He has not done so with any other nation, 1 and as for his decrees, they do not know them. 1 Praise Yahweh.
