Psalms 7
Yahweh my God, I take refuge in you! 1 Save me from all who chase me, and rescue me. 1
Otherwise, they will rip me apart like a lion, 1 tearing me in pieces with no one else able to bring me to safety. 1
Yahweh my God, if I have done this, 1 and there is guilt on my hands— 1
if I have done evil to him who was at peace with me, 1 or senselessly harmed my enemy without cause, then hear my words. 1
Then let my enemy pursue my life and overtake me; 1 let him trample my life to the ground 1 and lay my honor in the dust. Selah 1
Arise, Yahweh, in your anger; 1 stand up against the rage of my enemies; 1 wake up for my sake and carry out the righteous decrees that you have commanded for them. 1
The countries are assembled all around you; 1 take once more your rightful place over them. 1
Yahweh, judge the nations; 1 vindicate me, Yahweh, because I am righteous and innocent, Most High. 1
May the evil deeds of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous people, 1 righteous God, you who examine hearts and minds. 1
My shield comes from God, 1 the one who saves the upright in heart. 1
God is a righteous judge, 1 a God who is indignant each day. 1
If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword 1 and will prepare his bow for battle. 1
He prepares to use weapons against him; 1 he makes his arrows flaming shafts. 1
Think about the one who is pregnant with wickedness, 1 who conceives destructive plans, who gives birth to harmful lies. 1
He digs a pit and hollows it out 1 and then falls into the hole he has made. 1
His own destructive plans return to his own head, 1 for his violence comes down on his own head. 1
I will give thanks to Yahweh for his justice; 1 I will sing praise to Yahweh Most High.
