Psalms 119
1Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, 1 who walk in the law of Yahweh. 1
2Blessed are they who keep his solemn commands, 1 who seek him with all their heart. 1
3They do no wrong; 1 they walk in his ways. 1
4You have commanded us to keep your instructions 1 so that we should carefully observe them. 1
5Oh, that I would be firmly established 1 in the observance of your statutes! 1
6Then I would not be put to shame 1 when I think of all your commandments. 1
7I will give thanks to you with an upright heart 1 when I learn your righteous decrees. 1
8I will observe your statutes; 1 do not leave me alone. BETH 1
9How can a young person keep his path pure? 1 By obeying your word. 1
10With my whole heart I seek you; 1 Do not let me stray from your commandments. 1
11I have stored up your word in my heart 1 so that I might not sin against you. 1
12Blessed you are, Yahweh; 1 teach me your statutes. 1
13With my mouth I have declared 1 all the righteous decrees that you have revealed. 1
14I rejoice in the way of your covenant decrees 1 more than in all riches. 1
15I will meditate on your instructions 1 and pay attention to your ways. 1
16I delight in your statutes; 1 I will not forget your word. GIMEL 1
17Be kind to your servant so that I may live 1 and keep your word. 1
18Open my eyes so that I may see 1 marvelous things in your law. 1
19I am a foreigner in the land; 1 do not hide your commandments from me. 1
20My desires are crushed by the longing to know 1 your righteous decrees at all times. 1
21You rebuke the proud, who are cursed, 1 who wander from your commandments. 1
22Spare me from disgrace and humiliation, 1 for I have obeyed your covenant decrees. 1
23Though rulers plot and slander me, 1 your servant meditates on your statutes. 1
24Your covenant decrees are my delight, 1 and they are my counselors. DALETH 1
25My life clings to the dust! 1 Give me life by your word. 1
26I told you my ways, and you answered me; 1 teach me your statutes. 1
27Make me understand the ways of your instructions, 1 so that I can meditate on your wondrous teachings. 1
28I am overwhelmed with grief! 1 Strengthen me by your word. 1
29Turn from me the path of deceit; 1 graciously teach me your law. 1
30I have chosen the way of faithfulness; 1 I have always kept your righteous decrees before me. 1
31I cling to your covenant decrees; 1 Yahweh, do not let me be shamed. 1
32I will run in the path of your commandments, 1 for you enlarge my heart to do so. HE 1
33Teach me, Yahweh, the way of your statutes, 1 and I will keep them to the end. 1
34Give me understanding, and I will keep your law; 1 I will observe it with all my heart. 1
35Guide me in the path of your commandments, 1 for I delight to walk in it. 1
36Direct my heart toward your covenant decrees 1 and away from unrighteous gain. 1
37Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; 1 revive me in your ways. 1
38Carry out for your servant your promise 1 that you made to those who honor you. 1
39Take away the insults I dread, 1 for your righteous judgments are good. 1
40See, I have longed for your instructions; 1 revive me in your righteousness. VAV 1
41Yahweh, give me your unfailing love— 1 your salvation, according to your promise; 1
42then I will have a reply for the one who mocks me, 1 for I trust in your word. 1
43Do not take the word of truth from my mouth, 1 for my hope is in your righteous decrees. 1
44I will observe your law continually, 1 forever and ever. 1
45I will walk securely, 1 for I seek your instructions. 1
46I will speak of your solemn commands before kings 1 and will not be ashamed. 1
47I delight in your commandments, 1 which I love dearly. 1
48I will lift up my hands to your commandments, which I love; 1 I will meditate on your statutes. ZAYIN 1
49Call to mind your promise to your servant 1 because you have given me hope. 1
50This is my comfort in my affliction: 1 that your promise has kept me alive. 1
51The proud have scoffed at me, 1 yet I have not turned away from your law. 1
52I have thought about your righteous decrees from ancient times, Yahweh, 1 and I comfort myself. 1
53Hot anger has taken hold of me 1 because of the wicked who reject your law. 1
54Your statutes have been my songs 1 in the house where I temporarily live. 1
55I think about your name during the night, Yahweh, 1 and I keep your law. 1
56This has been my practice 1 because I have observed your instructions. HETH 1
57Yahweh is my portion; 1 I have determined to observe your words. 1
58I earnestly request your favor with my whole heart; 1 be merciful to me, as your word promised. 1
59I examined my ways 1 and turned my feet to your covenant decrees. 1
60I hurry and do not delay 1 to keep your commandments. 1
61The cords of the wicked have ensnared me; 1 I have not forgotten your law. 1
62At midnight I rise to give thanks to you 1 because of your righteous decrees. 1
63I am a companion of all who honor you, 1 to all who observe your instructions. 1
64The earth, Yahweh, is full of your covenant faithfulness; 1 teach me your statutes. TETH 1
65You have done good to your servant, 1 Yahweh, by means of your word. 1
66Teach me proper discernment and understanding, 1 for I have believed in your commandments. 1
67Before I was afflicted I went astray, 1 but now I observe your word. 1
68You are good, and you are one who does good; 1 teach me your statutes. 1
69The arrogant have smeared me with lies, 1 but I keep your instructions with my whole heart. 1
70Their hearts are hardened, 1 but I delight in your law. 1
71It is good for me that I have suffered 1 so that I would learn your statutes. 1
72Instruction from your mouth is more precious to me 1 than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. YOD 1
73Your hands have made and fashioned me; 1 give me understanding so that I may learn your commandments. 1
74Those who honor you will be glad when they see me 1 because I find hope in your word. 1
75I know, Yahweh, that your decrees are just, 1 and that in faithfulness you afflicted me. 1
76Let your covenant faithfulness comfort me, 1 as you promised your servant. 1
77Show me compassion so that I may live, 1 for your law is my delight. 1
78Let the proud be put to shame, 1 for they have slandered me; 1 but I will meditate on your instructions. 1
79May those who honor you turn to me, 1 those who know your covenant decrees. 1
80May my heart be blameless with respect to your statutes 1 so that I may not be put to shame. KAPH 1
81I faint with longing that you might rescue me! 1 I hope in your word. 1
82My eyes long to see your promise; 1 when will you comfort me? 1
83For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke; 1 I do not forget your statutes. 1
84How long must your servant endure this; 1 when will you judge those who persecute me? 1
85The proud have dug pits for me, 1 defying your law. 1
86All your commandments are reliable; 1 those people persecute me wrongfully; help me. 1
87They have almost made an end to me on earth, 1 but I do not reject your instructions. 1
88By your steadfast love, keep me alive, 1 so that I may obey your commands. LAMEDH 1
89Yahweh, your word stands forever; 1 your word is established firmly in heaven. 1
90Your faithfulness lasts for all generations; 1 you have established the earth, and it remains. 1
91All things continue to this day, just as you said in your righteous decrees, 1 for all things are your servants. 1
92If your law had not been my delight, 1 I would have perished in my affliction. 1
93I will never forget your instructions, 1 for through them you have kept me alive. 1
94I am yours; save me, 1 for I seek your instructions. 1
95The wicked prepare to destroy me, 1 but I will seek to understand your covenant decrees. 1
96I have seen that everything has its limits, 1 but your commandments are broad, beyond limits. MEM 1
97Oh how I love your law! 1 It is my meditation all day long. 1
98Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, 1 for your commandments are always with me. 1
99I have more understanding than all my teachers, 1 for I meditate on your covenant decrees. 1
100I understand more than those older than I am; 1 this is because I have kept your instructions. 1
101I have kept my feet back from every evil path 1 so that I might observe your word. 1
102I have not turned aside from your righteous decrees, 1 for you have instructed me. 1
103How sweet are your words to my taste, 1 yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 1
104Through your instructions I gain discernment; 1 therefore I hate every false way. NUN 1
105Your word is a lamp to my feet 1 and a light for my path. 1
106I have sworn and have confirmed it, 1 that I will observe your righteous decrees. 1
107I am very afflicted; 1 keep me alive, Yahweh, as you have promised in your word. 1
108Yahweh, please accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, 1 and teach me your righteous decrees. 1
109My life is always in my hand, 1 yet I do not forget your law. 1
110The wicked have set a snare for me, 1 but I have not strayed from your instructions. 1
111I claim your covenant decrees as my heritage forever, 1 for they are the joy of my heart. 1
112My heart is set on obeying your statutes 1 forever to the very end. SAMEKH 1

114You are my hiding place and my shield; 1 I hope in your word. 1
115Get away from me, you evil doers, 1 so that I may observe the commandments of my God. 1

117Support me, and I will be safe; 1 I will always meditate on your statutes. 1
118You reject all those who stray from your statutes, 1 for those people are deceptive and unreliable. 1
119You remove all the wicked of the earth like slag; 1 therefore I love your solemn commands. 1
120My body trembles in fear of you, 1 and I am afraid of your righteous decrees. AYIN 1
121I do what is just and right; 1 do not abandon me to my oppressors. 1
122Guarantee the welfare of your servant; 1 do not let the proud oppress me. 1
123My eyes grow tired as I wait for your salvation 1 and for your righteous word. 1
124Show your servant your covenant faithfulness, 1 and teach me your statutes. 1
125I am your servant; give me understanding 1 so that I may know your covenant decrees. 1
126It is time for Yahweh to act, 1 for people have broken your law. 1
127Truly I love your commandments 1 more than gold, more than fine gold. 1
128Therefore I carefully follow all your instructions, 1 and I hate every path of falsehood. PE 1
129Your rules are wonderful, 1 that is why I obey them. 1
130The unfolding of your words gives light; 1 it gives understanding to the untrained. 1
131I open my mouth and pant, 1 for I long for your commandments. 1
132Turn to me and have mercy on me, 1 as you always do for those who love your name. 1
133Direct my footsteps by your word; 1 do not let any sin rule me. 1
134Redeem me from human oppression 1 so that I may observe your instructions. 1
135Let your face shine on your servant, 1 and teach me your statutes. 1

141I am insignificant and despised, 1 yet I do not forget your instructions. 1
142Your justice is forever right, 1 and your law is trustworthy. 1
143Though distress and anguish have found me, 1 your commandments are still my delight. 1
144Your covenant decrees are righteous forever; 1 give me understanding that I may live. QOPH 1
145I cried out with my whole heart, “Answer me, Yahweh, 1 I will keep your statutes. 1
146I call to you; save me, 1 and I will observe your covenant decrees.” 1
147I rise before the dawn of the morning and cry for help. 1 I hope in your words. 1
148My eyes are open before the night watches change 1 so that I might meditate on your word. 1
149Hear my voice in your covenant faithfulness; 1 keep me alive, Yahweh, as you have promised in your righteous decrees. 1
150Those who are persecuting me are coming closer to me, 1 but they are far from your law. 1
151You are near, Yahweh, 1 and all your commandments are trustworthy. 1
152Long ago I learned from your covenant decrees 1 that you had set them in place forever. RESH 1
153Look on my affliction and help me, 1 for I do not forget your law. 1
154Plead my cause and redeem me; 1 keep me, as you have promised in your word. 1
155Salvation is far from the wicked, 1 for they do not love your statutes. 1
156Great are your merciful actions, Yahweh; 1 keep me alive, as you always do. 1
157My persecutors and my foes are many, 1 yet I have not turned from your covenant decrees. 1
158I view the treacherous with disgust 1 because they do not keep your word. 1
159See how I love your instructions; 1 keep me alive, Yahweh, as you have promised by your covenant faithfulness. 1
160The essence of your word is truth; 1 every one of your righteous decrees lasts forever. SHIN 1
161Princes persecute me without cause, 1 but my heart stands in awe of your word. 1
162I rejoice at your word 1 like one who finds great plunder. 1
163I hate and despise falsehood, 1 but I love your law. 1
