Psalms 64
Hear my voice, God, listen to my complaint; 1 preserve my life from fear of my enemies. 1
Hide me from the secret plotting of evildoers, 1 from the commotion of the doers of iniquity. 1
They have sharpened their tongues like swords; 1 they have aimed their arrows, bitter words, 1
so that they may shoot from secret places at someone who is innocent; 1 suddenly they shoot at him and fear nothing. 1
They encourage themselves in an evil plan; 1 they consult privately together in order to set traps; 1 they say, “Who will see us?” 1
They invent sinful plans; 1 “We have finished,” they say, “a careful plan.” 1 The inner thoughts and hearts of man are deep. 1
But God will shoot them; 1 suddenly they will be wounded with his arrows. 1
They will be made to stumble, since their own tongues are against them; 1 all who see them will wag their heads. 1
All people will fear 1 and will declare God's deeds. 1 They will wisely think about what he has done. 1
The righteous will be glad about Yahweh and will take refuge in him; 1 all the upright in heart will take pride in him.
