Psalms 144
Blessed be Yahweh, my rock, 1 who trains my hands for war 1 and my fingers for battle. 1
You are my covenant faithfulness and my fortress, 1 my high tower and the one who rescues me, 1 my shield and the one in whom I take refuge, 1 the one who subdues nations under me. 1
Yahweh, what is man that you take notice of him 1 or the son of man that you think about him? 1
Man is like a breath; 1 his days are like a passing shadow. 1
Cause the sky to sink and come down, Yahweh; 1 touch the mountains and make them smoke. 1
Send flashes of lightning and scatter my enemies; 1 shoot your arrows and drive them back in confusion. 1
Reach out your hand from above; 1 rescue me out of many waters, 1 from the hand of foreigners. 1
Their mouths speak lies, 1 and their right hand is falsehood. 1
I will sing a new song to you, God; 1 on a lute of ten strings I will sing praises to you, 1
who give salvation to kings, 1 who rescued David your servant from an evil sword. 1
Rescue me and free me from the hand of foreigners. 1 Their mouths speak lies, 1 and their right hand is falsehood. 1
May our sons be like plants who grow to full size in their youth 1 and our daughters like carved corner pillars, shapely like those of a palace. 1
May our storehouses be full with every kind of produce, 1 and may our sheep produce thousands and ten thousands in our fields. 1
Then our oxen will have many young. 1 No one will break through our walls; there will be no exile 1 and no outcry in our streets. 1
Blessed is the people with such blessings; 1 happy is the people whose God is Yahweh.
