Psalms 138
1I will give you thanks with my whole heart; 1 before the gods I will sing praises to you. 1
2I will bow down toward your holy temple 1 and give thanks to your name for your covenant faithfulness and for your trustworthiness. 1 You have made your word and your name more important than anything else. 1
3On the day that I called you, you answered me; 1 you made me bold and strengthened my soul. 1
4All the kings of the earth will give you thanks, Yahweh, 1 for they will hear the words from your mouth. 1
5Indeed, they will sing of the deeds of Yahweh, 1 for great is the glory of Yahweh. 1
6For though Yahweh is high, yet he cares for the lowly, 1 but the proud he knows from far off. 1
7Though I walk in the middle of danger, you will preserve my life; 1 you will reach out with your hand against the anger of my enemies, 1 and your right hand will save me. 1
8Yahweh is with me to the end; 1 your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, endures forever. 1 Do not forsake the ones whom your hands have made.
