Psalms 62
1I wait in silence for God alone; 1 my salvation comes from him. 1
2He alone is my rock and my salvation; 1 he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. 1
3How long, all of you, will you attack a man, 1 that you may tip him over 1 like a leaning wall or a shaky fence? 1
4They consult with him only to bring him down from his honorable position; 1 they love to tell lies; 1 they bless him with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse him. Selah 1
5I wait in silence for God alone; 1 for my hope is set on him. 1
6He alone is my rock and my salvation; 1 he is my high tower; I will not be moved. 1
7With God is my salvation and my glory; 1 the rock of my strength and my refuge are in God. 1
8Trust in him at all times, you people; 1 pour out your heart before him; 1 God is a refuge for us. Selah 1
9Surely men of low standing are vanity, and men of high standing are a lie; 1 they will weigh lightly in the scales; 1 weighed together, they are lighter than nothing. 1
10Do not trust in oppression or robbery; 1 and do not hope uselessly in riches, 1 for they will bear no fruit; do not fix your heart on them. 1
11God has spoken once, 1 twice have I heard this: 1 power belongs to God. 1
12Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness, 1 for you pay back every person for what he has done.
