Psalms 52

Why are you proud of making trouble, you mighty man? 1 The covenant faithfulness of God comes every day. 1

Your tongue plans destruction 1 like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 1

You love evil more than good 1 and lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah 1

You love all words that devour others, 1 you deceitful tongue. 1

God will likewise destroy you forever; 1 he will take you up and pluck you out of your tent 1 and root you out of the land of the living. Selah 1

The righteous will also see it and fear; 1 they will laugh at him and say, 1

“See, this is a man who did not make God his refuge, 1 but he trusted in the abundance of his wealth, 1 and he was strong when he destroyed others.” 1

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God's house; 1 I will trust in the covenant faithfulness of God forever and ever. 1

I will give you thanks forever for what you have done. 1 I will wait for your name, because it is good, 1 in the presence of your godly people.
