Psalms 48
Great is Yahweh and greatly to be praised, 1 in the city of our God on his holy mountain. 1
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, 1 is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, 1 the city of the great King. 1
God has made himself known in her palaces as a refuge. 1
For, see, the kings assembled themselves; 1 they passed by together. 1
They saw it, then they were amazed; 1 they were dismayed, and they hurried away. 1
Trembling took hold of them there, 1 pain as when a woman is in labor. 1
With the east wind 1 you break the ships of Tarshish. 1
As we have heard, so have we seen 1 in the city of Yahweh of hosts, in the city of our God; 1 God will establish it forever. Selah 1
We have thought about your covenant faithfulness, God, 1 in the middle of your temple. 1
As your name is, God, 1 so is your praise to the ends of the earth; 1 your right hand is full of righteousness. 1
Let Mount Zion be glad, 1 let the daughters of Judah rejoice 1 because of your righteous decrees. 1
Walk around Mount Zion, go round about her; 1 count her towers, 1
notice well her walls, 1 and look at her palaces 1 so that you may tell it to the next generation. 1
For this God is our God forever and ever; 1 he will be our guide to death.
