Psalms 115
Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, 1 but to your name bring honor, 1 for your covenant faithfulness and for your trustworthiness. 1
Why should the nations say, 1 “Where is their God?” 1
Our God is in heaven; 1 he does whatever he pleases. 1
The nations' idols are silver and gold, 1 the work of men's hands. 1
Those idols have mouths, but they do not speak; 1 they have eyes, but they do not see; 1
they have ears, but they do not hear; 1 they have noses, but they do not smell. 1
Those idols have hands, but do not feel; 1 they have feet, but they cannot walk; 1 nor do they speak from their mouths. 1
Those who make them are like them, 1 as is everyone who trusts in them. 1
Israel, trust in Yahweh; 1 he is your help and shield. 1
House of Aaron, trust in Yahweh; 1 he is your help and shield. 1
You who honor Yahweh, trust in him; 1 he is your help and shield. 1
Yahweh takes notice of us and will bless us; 1 he will bless the family of Israel; 1 he will bless the family of Aaron. 1
He will bless those who honor him, 1 both young and old. 1
May Yahweh increase your numbers more and more, 1 yours and your descendants'. 1
May you be blessed by Yahweh, 1 who made heaven and earth. 1
The heavens belong to Yahweh; 1 but the earth he has given to mankind. 1
The dead do not praise Yahweh, 1 nor do any who go down into silence; 1
But we will bless Yahweh 1 now and forevermore. 1 Praise Yahweh.
