Psalms 6
1Yahweh, do not rebuke me in your anger 1 or discipline me in your wrath. 1
2Have mercy on me, Yahweh, for I am frail; 1 heal me, Yahweh, for my bones are shaking. 1
3My soul also is very troubled. 1 But you, Yahweh—how long will this continue? 1
4Return, Yahweh! rescue me. 1 Save me because of your covenant faithfulness! 1
5For in death there is no remembrance of you. 1 In Sheol who will give you thanks? 1
6I am weary with my groaning. 1 All night I drench my bed with tears; 1 I wash my couch away with my tears. 1
7My eyes grow dim from grief; 1 they grow weak because of all my adversaries. 1
8Get away from me, all you who practice iniquity; 1 for Yahweh has heard the sound of my weeping. 1
9Yahweh has heard my appeal for mercy; 1 Yahweh has accepted my prayer. 1
10All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly troubled. 1 They will turn back and be suddenly humiliated.
