Psalms 27
1Yahweh is my light and my salvation; 1 whom should I fear? 1 Yahweh is my life's refuge; 1 whom should I dread? 1
2When evildoers approached me to devour my flesh, 1 my adversaries and my enemies stumbled and fell. 1
3Though an army encamps against me, 1 my heart will not fear; 1 though war rises up against me, 1 even then I will remain confident. 1
4One thing have I asked of Yahweh, and I will seek that: 1 that I may live in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, 1 to see the beauty of Yahweh 1 and to meditate in his temple. 1
5For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter; 1 in the cover of his tent he will conceal me. 1 He will lift me high on a rock! 1
6Then my head will be lifted up above my enemies all around me, 1 and I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tent! 1 I will sing and make songs to Yahweh! 1
7Hear, Yahweh, my voice when I cry out! 1 Have mercy on me, and answer me! 1
8My heart says about you, 1 “Seek his face!” I seek your face, Yahweh! 1
9Do not hide your face from me; 1 do not turn your servant away in anger! 1 You have been my helper; 1 do not forsake me or abandon me, God of my salvation! 1
10Even if my father and my mother forsake me, 1 Yahweh will take me in. 1
11Teach me your way, Yahweh! 1 Lead me on a level path 1 because of my enemies. 1
12Do not give me up to the desires of my enemies, 1 for false witnesses have risen up against me, 1 and they breathe out violence! 1
13What would have happened to me if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living? 1
14Wait for Yahweh; 1 be strong, and let your heart be courageous! 1 Wait for Yahweh!
