Psalms 127

1Unless Yahweh builds the house, 1 they work uselessly, those who build it. 1 Unless Yahweh guards the city, 1 the watchman stands guard uselessly. 1

2It is useless for you to rise up early, 1 to come home late, 1 or to eat the bread of hard work, 1 for Yahweh provides for his beloved as they sleep. 1

3See, children are a heritage from Yahweh, 1 and the fruit of the womb is a reward from him. 1

4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, 1 so are the children of one's youth. 1

5How blessed is the man that has his quiver full of them. 1 He will not be put to shame 1 when he confronts his enemies in the gate.
