Psalms 77
I will call out with my voice to God; 1 I will call with my voice to God, and my God will hear me. 1
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; 1 at night I stretched my hands out, and they would not become tired. 1 My soul refused to be comforted. 1
I thought of God as I groaned; 1 I thought about him as I grew faint. Selah 1
You held my eyes open; 1 I was too troubled to speak. 1
I thought about the days of old, 1 about times long past. 1
During the night I called to mind the song I once sang. 1 I thought carefully 1 and tried to understand what had happened. 1
Will the Lord reject me forever? 1 Will he never again show me favor? 1
Was his covenant faithfulness gone forever? 1 Had his promise failed forever? 1
Had God forgotten to be gracious? 1 Had his anger shut off his compassion? Selah 1
I said, “This is my sorrow: 1 the changing of the right hand of the Most High toward us.” 1
But I will call to mind your deeds, Yahweh; 1 I will think about your wonderful deeds of old. 1
I will ponder all your deeds 1 and will reflect on them. 1
Your way, God, is holy; 1 what god compares to our great God? 1
You are the God who does wonders; 1 you have revealed your strength among the peoples. 1
You gave your people victory by your great power— 1 the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah 1
The waters saw you, God; 1 the waters saw you, and they were afraid; 1 the depths trembled. 1
The clouds poured down water; 1 the cloudy skies gave voice; 1 your arrows flew about. 1
Your thunderous voice was heard in the wind; 1 the lightning lit up the world; 1 the earth trembled and shook. 1
Your path went through the sea 1 and your way through the surging waters, 1 but your footprints were not seen. 1
You led your people like a flock 1 by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
