Psalms 41
Blessed is he who is concerned for the weak; 1 in the day of trouble, Yahweh will rescue him. 1
Yahweh will preserve him and keep him alive, 1 and he will be blessed on the earth; 1 Yahweh will not turn him over to the will of his enemies. 1
Yahweh will support him on the bed of suffering; 1 you will make his bed of sickness into a bed of healing. 1
I said, “Yahweh, have mercy on me! 1 Heal me, for I have sinned against you.” 1
My enemies speak evil against me, saying, 1 'When will he die and his name perish?' 1
If my enemy comes to see me, he says worthless things; 1 his heart gathers up my disaster for itself; 1 when he goes away from me, he tells others about it. 1
All who hate me whisper together against me; 1 against me they hope for my hurt. 1
They say, “An evil disease holds on tightly to him; 1 now that he is lying down, he will rise up no more.” 1
Indeed, even my own close friend, in whom I trusted, 1 who ate my bread, 1 has lifted up his heel against me. 1
But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me and raise me up 1 so that I may pay them back. 1
By this I know that you delight in me, 1 for my enemy does not triumph over me. 1
As for me, you support me in my integrity 1 and will keep me before your face forever. 1
May Yahweh, the God of Israel be praised 1 from everlasting to everlasting. 1 Amen and Amen. 1 Book Two
