Psalms 53
A fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” 1 They are corrupt and have done abominable iniquity; 1 there is no one who does good. 1
God looks down from heaven on the children of mankind 1 to see if there are any who understand, 1 who seek after him. 1
They have all turned away. Together they have become corrupt. 1 There is not one who does good, not even one. 1
Do those who commit iniquity have no understanding— 1 those who devour my people as if they were eating bread 1 and they do not call on God? 1
They were in great fear, although no reason to fear was there; 1 for God will scatter the bones of whoever will camp against you; 1 such people will be put to shame because God has rejected them. 1
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! 1 When God brings back his people from the captivity, 1 then Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be glad!
