Psalms 85
1Yahweh, you have showed favor to your land; 1 you have restored the well-being of Jacob. 1
2You have forgiven the sin of your people; 1 you have covered all their sin. Selah 1
3You have withdrawn all your wrath; 1 you have turned back from your hot anger. 1
4Restore us, God of our salvation, 1 and let go of your displeasure with us. 1
5Will you be angry with us forever? 1 Will you remain angry throughout future generations? 1
6Will you not revive us again? 1 Then your people will rejoice in you. 1
7Show us your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, 1 grant us your salvation. 1
8I will listen to what Yahweh God says, 1 for he will make peace with his people, his faithful followers. 1 Yet they must not turn again to foolish ways. 1
9Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him; 1 then glory will remain in our land. 1
10Covenant faithfulness and trustworthiness have met together; 1 righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 1
11Trustworthiness springs up from the ground, 1 and righteousness looks down from the sky. 1
12Yes, Yahweh will give his good blessings, 1 and our land will yield its crops. 1
13Righteousness will go before him 1 and make a way for his footsteps.
