Psalms 21
1The king rejoices in your strength, Yahweh! 1 How greatly he rejoices in the salvation you provide! 1
2You have given him his heart's desire 1 and have not held back the request of his lips. Selah 1
3For you bring him rich blessings; 1 you placed on his head a crown of purest gold. 1
4He asked you for life; you gave it to him; 1 you gave him long days forever and ever. 1
5His glory is great because of your victory; 1 you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. 1
6For you grant him lasting blessings; 1 you make him glad with the joy of your presence. 1
7For the king trusts in Yahweh; 1 through the covenant faithfulness of the Most High he will not be moved. 1
8Your hand will seize all your enemies; 1 your right hand will seize those who hate you. 1
9At the time of your anger, you will burn them up as in a fiery furnace. 1 Yahweh will consume them in his wrath, 1 and the fire will devour them. 1
10You will destroy their offspring from the earth 1 and their descendants from among the human race. 1
11For they intended evil against you; 1 they conceived a plot with which they will not succeed! 1
12For you will turn them back; 1 you will draw your bow before them. 1
13Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength; 1 we will sing and praise your power.
