Psalms 9
I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart; 1 I will tell about all your marvelous deeds. 1
I will be glad and rejoice in you; 1 I will sing praise to your name, Most High! 1
When my enemies turn back, 1 they stumble and perish before you. 1
For you have defended my just cause; 1 you sit on your throne, a righteous judge! 1
You rebuked the nations; 1 you have destroyed the wicked; 1 you have blotted out their name forever and ever. 1
The enemy crumbled like ruins 1 when you overthrew their cities. 1 All remembrance of them has perished. 1
But Yahweh remains forever; 1 he has established his throne for justice. 1
He will judge the world with righteousness, 1 and he will execute judgment for the nations with fairness. 1
Yahweh also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, 1 a stronghold in times of trouble. 1
Those who know your name trust in you, 1 for you, Yahweh, do not abandon those who seek you. 1
Sing praises to Yahweh, who rules in Zion; 1 tell the nations what he has done. 1
For the God who avenges bloodshed remembers; 1 he does not forget the cry of the oppressed. 1
Have mercy on me, Yahweh; see how I am oppressed by those who hate me, 1 you who can snatch me from the gates of death. 1
Oh, that I might proclaim all your praise. 1 In the gates of the daughter of Zion 1 I will rejoice in your salvation! 1
The nations have sunk down into the pit that they made; 1 their feet are caught in the net that they hid. 1
Yahweh has made himself known; he has executed judgment; 1 the wicked is ensnared by his own actions. Selah 1
The wicked are turned back and sent to Sheol, 1 all the nations that forget God. 1
For the needy will not always be forgotten, 1 nor will the hope of the oppressed be forever dashed. 1
Arise, Yahweh; do not let man win against you; 1 may the nations be judged in your sight. 1
Terrify them, Yahweh; 1 may the nations know that they are mere men. Selah
