Psalms 76
God has made himself known in Judah; 1 his name is great in Israel. 1
His tent is in Salem; 1 his dwelling place is in Zion. 1
There he broke the arrows of the bow, 1 the shield, the sword, and the other weapons of war. Selah 1
You shine brightly and reveal your glory, 1 as you descend from the mountains, where you killed your victims. 1
The bravehearted were plundered; 1 they fell asleep. 1 All the warriors were helpless. 1
At your rebuke, God of Jacob, 1 both rider and horse fell asleep. 1
You, yes you, are to be feared; 1 who can stand in your sight when you are angry? 1
From heaven you made your judgment heard; 1 the earth was afraid and silent 1
when you, God, arose to execute judgment 1 and to save all the oppressed of the earth. Selah 1
Surely your angry judgment against humanity will bring you praise; 1 you gird yourself with what is left of your anger. 1
Make vows to Yahweh your God and keep them. 1 May all who surround him bring gifts to him who is to be feared. 1
He cuts off the spirit of the princes; 1 he is feared by the kings of the earth.
